Date / 12 August 2005
GMB today presented a ‘reasonable and sensible’ solution to DHL Express in an attempt to avert the need for strike action in the run up to Christmas.
Mick Rix, GMB National Executive Office said, “Following a cordial and hopefully a constructive meeting held between the senior representatives of GMB and DHL express management, both put their views forward in an open way. Both parties agreed to take away the issues that were raised, for further consideration, and to respond to each other on the way forward at a further meeting to be held shortly. Mick Rix GMB National Executive Officer “I hope that DHL, now understand, clearly, the views of the GMB, and its members, and is left in no doubt the frustrations and feelings of GMB members.
We have put to DHL Express a reasonable and sensible solution to resolve the current industrial relations problems, and avert the need for strike action in November and December later this year”.
